 Details: get the prune and armagnac ice cream from Berthillon, no matter
 what the weather. Dehilleron sells great kitchenware cheap (I brought home
 two knives, in the checked luggage, and yes, the packet got looked at by
 airport security before they took the bag). The dress shop of my dreams
 has seven branches in Paris. (g plumage for a report) The view from the
 Eiffel Tower looks just as good with your eyes closed. Street vendor
 crepes are delicious. If you stay in the 6th, you can walk anywhere you
 want to go--the museums, Notre Dame, the parks, plus the best bakery in
 the world (everyone seems to agree about this) is there, Gerard Mulot.
 February is a good time to see the Mona Lisa, hardly any crowd at all, and
 every other picture, even the Vermeers, you can virtually have to
 yourself. Go to the live bird market, which only happens once a week where
 a flower market usually is.  Be loaned the sweetest apartment possible in
 a building dating from the 1770s, but take your socks off if you don't
 want to slip on the ancient, slanting parquet floor on the way to the
 kitchen--the wood is the same pattern as in the grand mansion that now
 houses the Rodin museum.
