According to Wikipedia:

Cathy Smith (yes, with a C, which also made me doubt that it was "our" Kathy Smith) did 15 months for involuntary manslaughter and possession. Got out in 1988, was deported to Canada. Arrested in British Columbia for heroin possession in '91, got $5,000 fine and probation. Other than an interview in 1998 on the "E! True Hollywood Story" episode on Belushi, that seems to be the last sighting.

Yikes. I hope the less sleazy Kathy Smith wasn't too hounded by the rumors. I knew her fleetingly circa 1969/70 (met her when we sat in adjacent seats at one of shows at which the Stones recorded "Get Yer Ya Yas Out" at MSG), and she was very nice. [Read entire topic]

Indeed. I'm sorry I was the one who brought up the rumor that she was, which I'd seen and heard in numerous places over the years. As I stated in the original go-round, I tended to think it wasn't true, despite the insistence I'd seen in some quarters that it was, and was hoping to see the theory debunked.

Richie being as reliable a source as I can imagine on the music of that era, I happily consider the bunk disposed of. [Read entire topic]
