Yeah, the Gathering of the Vibes its roots in Deadheadism, and always features a fair amount of GD-related music, but it has evolved into a much broader event with an impressively diverse lineup of talent. It's also of a reasonable scale (IOW, not one of those half-a-million- hippies-in-the-mud nightmares), and is one of the better-run, most audience-friendly festivals around. Plus, Seaside Park in Bridgeport (bequeathed to the city by its most famous resident, P.T. Barnum), is just a wonderful setting. [Read entire topic]
