Thank you, Sasha, for a lively, thought-provoking, and optimistic discussion and book. I am especially heartened that you do not perceive the diversity of the US to be an impossible barrier to a vital, rich commons. I will remind myself of your hope and continue my small push in that direction.

As for Henning Mankell, there are a couple of stories that really started me thinking about Swedish anxieties about change. Alas, I left all those books in Stockholm and don't remember the titles.
