Welcome to the conversation. This feed format is reversed from the
sequence you see on the live site. You are reading one of the few topics
on The WELL that is open to all, members or not.

We have just about reached the maximum number of responses for this awesome
topic (2008 is the upper limit), so please allow me to direct your attention
to the continuation: <inkwell.vue.104>.

See you there!

Jinx- If you are using Engaged, Neil's is the way to go. If you are using
Picospan, type "start" while in the conference you want to start a topic in,
and that'll either work or tell you what else you needed to do.

        Jinx --
http://engaged.well.com/engaged/engaged.cgi?c=inkwell.vue&f=0&t=104
should do it.

I figure I'll wait until this topic is officially frozen and done
before posting in the new one. Out of respect. (Takes off hat, looks
very sober for a moment, puts hat back on.) (The Last Post plays
mournfully in the background.)

Ok, hopefully my lame little post won't be the last, but could someone
please remind me (by e-mail if need be) how to add a new topic?
I've been trying for a about an hour, and maybe it's these 10 hour
workdays, but I'm just lost.
Feeling awfully dumb today

Jinx who loves the whole romance aspect of Dierdre and Jack.

        This is way too funny.

I love the name "Dierdre". I just thought I'd mention.
I think I've read Amber too often. And Celtic lit.

I'll wander off giggling now for some breakfast.

"Yeah, I remember Tex. He was from topic 73, but we all called him
Tex anyway. Now I... I guess he's not gonna ever see topic 73 again.
Excuse me, wouldja? I... got somethin' in my eye."

        "Jack?"

"Yes, Dierdre?"

"Jack? You're pining, aren't you?"

"Pining, Dierdre? Whatever makes you say that?"

"Oh, Jack. It's that -- that far-off look in your eyes. Is it the war?
Is that it, Jack?"

"No. No, Dierdre. It's not the war."

"Then -- then for heaven's sake, darling, tell me. Tell me what it is.
I'm sure that there is nothing that we cannot bear, together."

"I suppose, Dierdre, you're just going to call me a silly old muffin,
but. Well, it's the end of an era."

"Oh Jack."

"Oh Dierdre."

"I didn't think that whole topic 73 thing would get to you like that.
I should have known. I've been a fool."

"No Dierdre. I've been the fool."

"Topic 104. It. It won't change anything, will it?"

"Gosh no. It won't change us, anyway Dierdre. I just can't help
remembering. It's all going away. Topic 73. There's amusic, you know,
when you say it. It's got a sort of magic about it. Topic 104 -- can
it, will it ever be the same?"

"Jack. There's something I have to tell you."

"What is it Dierdre?"

"I'm -- I'm going to have a baby."

"Oh Dierdre."

"Oh jack. Are you.... are you angry?"

"No. I was just thinking... I suppose we're going to jolly well have
to make topic 104 a land fit for heroes now."

(Stirring music swells.)

This post brought to you by too many old black and white war movies on
wet sunday afternoons in my childhood.
