Okay, the guest of honor would be our prez with no minions in tow. 
After he was firmly strapped in to a comfy dining chair, I'd bring in
the other guests: Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, Bill Maher, and Helen
Thomas.  This delightful dinner party would be broadcast live.

What does it say about me that I keep trying to think of people to 
invite and most of them are long dead?  Uh-oh.

But I'd greatly enjoy having John Stewart and Stephen Colbert to 
dinner, non-televised, off the record and out of character.  Just

Hmm. I like the Bush Party listed in <1>.  But that's too high brow
for me. 

Fantasy? My dead grandfathers (2), my dead brother in law, Isaac
Asimov, and Nostradomus (I assume my husband will be there since he
lives in the house, so I didn't include him in the guest list. I he has
to be included as a guest, I will drop Asimov for Ken).

Hm.  Ok, let's format the question a bit differently this time:

You're having three to five people over for talk and a meal at your
house, or maybe at a cozy restaurant if you prefer.  These guests can
be alive or dead, men or women, famous or infamous or none of the
above.

Please tell us what you plan to talk about and what is being served,
and be sure to dish about who said what and who threw what at whom.
  

    
Jefferson, to ask about slavery vs. the 1st, 4th, and 5th
amendments that he insisted be added to the Constitution.

Hammurabi, to ask about abortion.  I really don't know what to 
think about his position, and I think we need to know about it 
to understand some of today's attitudes on the subject.

Eleanor Roosevelt, to ask about the Universal Declaration of 
Human Rights.  I know she flogged it through the UN.  I want to 
know the inside scoop of where the opposition came from and how 
she dealt with it.

George C. Marshall.  I know that he gets much more credit than he
deserves for the Marshall Plan, but I'd still like to find out
what his personal thinking was.  His plan gave us a western
Europe that has been at peace for 62 years now, and a western 
Europe that is now extending the values of peace to eastern 
Europe and beyond.

Arianna Huffington, because she consciously made a very large and 
very public change in her political opinions, apparently based on 
hard thinking on her part.  I want to know more about the 
responses that she has gotten and the pressures that she has 
faced.  Also, she is, you know, alive, unlike the others on my 
list, and I think there can be a more visceral connection with 
someone who is alive and who thinks for one's self.

If I could have a sixth guest, it would be America Ferrera.

I'd like a barbecue in my back yard with Jimmy Buffett, Jon Stewart,
Lily Tomlin, Will Shortz, and Maureen Dowd. Swimming, backgammon,
Scrabble, stream of consciousness discussions. Mostly for fun with
