Jefferson, to ask about slavery vs. the 1st, 4th, and 5th amendments that he insisted be added to the Constitution.

Hammurabi, to ask about abortion. I really don't know what to think about his position, and I think we need to know about it to understand some of today's attitudes on the subject.

Eleanor Roosevelt, to ask about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. I know she flogged it through the UN. I want to know the inside scoop of where the opposition came from and how she dealt with it.

George C. Marshall. I know that he gets much more credit than he deserves for the Marshall Plan, but I'd still like to find out what his personal thinking was. His plan gave us a western Europe that has been at peace for 62 years now, and a western Europe that is now extending the values of peace to eastern Europe and beyond.

Arianna Huffington, because she consciously made a very large and very public change in her political opinions, apparently based on hard thinking on her part. I want to know more about the responses that she has gotten and the pressures that she has faced. Also, she is, you know, alive, unlike the others on my list, and I think there can be a more visceral connection with someone who is alive and who thinks for one's self.
