Welcome to the conversation. This feed format is reversed from the

        Here's an interesting exercise...

Enter "green robotics" (with the quotes) into the search field in Google.

Here's the resulting link, for your convenience...

<http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=%22green+robotics%22&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8>

If you're hoping to find page after page of links to the usage of that phrase
in the context of robotic technology potentially being green technology,
you'll be disappointed. That point hasn't yet achieved much penetration of
the collective consciousness.

The upside is that the potential of "green robotics" is both huge and
largely unrecognized, which spells opportunity.

        Once again, Engadget's got the story first -- new four-legged commercial
robot that looks vaguely like a dog...

<http://www.engadget.com/2007/07/09/aibo-lives-meet-bj-without-the-sony-bugbear/>

I haven't even been able to locate a website for aXi, the maker of this
pooch.

        From http://www.engadget.com/2007/06/21/congress-calls-for-robot-caucus/

> Congressmen Mike Doyle and Zach Wamp have called for the first robot
> caucus to convene in Washington. Spurred into action by the idea that
> "the robotics industry is developing in much the same way as the
> computer business did 30 years ago", Doyle hopes to promote robot
> awareness, work on robot policy, and educate Congress on issues in
> robotics to ensure "that our nation remains globally competitive".
> Wamp added that he looks forward to the caucus's first order of
> business: identifying which congresspeople are, in fact, robots
> themselves.

I have one message for that caucus:

While bringing to bear the benefits of robotics,
don't miss the oppotunity to improve over current practices -
for example in the field of agriculture,
where rising petroleum product costs are conspiring with soil depletion
to bring production down dramatically a decade or two from now -
remembering that robotics is essentially the infusion of technology
with a glimmer of intelligence.
