Here we are, folks:

 1. by <agentmitten>
 The president answers to George,
The same as at old Valley Forge.
 The first George was just
 And earned people's trust.
The new one, at best, is a scourge.
6: izzie, pellmell, wolfy, aud, laura-mac, bumbaugh

 2. by <app2bcom>
 The president answers to George
 While Cheney does secretly forge
 In corporate guise
 Fresh fraudulent pies
 At federal troughs to engorge
 4: wellelp, dextly, evan, karish

 3. by <coiro>
 The President answers to George;
A warfront, he's trying to forge.
 Between him and Rummy,
 My poor sickened tummy
is forced all its bile to disgorge.
 2: dsg, agentmitten,

 4. by <wickett>
 The president answers to George.
 Familial truth we disgorge:
 He doesn't exist;
 Now won't you enlist
To lay down your life for our George?

 5. by <peoples>
 The president answers to George,
When a battle he's trying to forge.
When he hears calls to "Charge!"
 His dick will enlarge,
Sigh... If only his brain would engorge.
 2: kafclown, hal

 6. by DCWrites
 The president answers to George
And to Barbara, the pearl-sporting Norge
 He'd do better, it's said
 If he listened to Jed
Who can teach him how better to forge.
 2: fom, app2bcom

 7. by <gail>
 The president answers to George
When young he liked booze pills and org-
 ies more than his books.
He had few brains or looks,
But Dad's name he never did forge.

 8. by <jenslobodin>
 The president answers to George
Though not the one from Valley Forge
 He's not honest like Lincoln
 Nor a Roosevelt, I'm thinkin'
Plus his voice pulls a rise up my gorge

 9. by <izzie>
 The president answers to George
 "Resident" - a name he'd not forge
We din't vote him in -
 He faked that big win
and on taxes and oil now he'll gorge
 2: autumn, chuck

 10. by <laura-mac>
 The president answers to George
NOT the cool one who rocked Valley Forge
This one's smart as a gnat
 A spoiled rotten brat
Think: Niagra Falls, barrel, and gorge
 2: gjk, DCWrites

 11. by <pellmell>
 The president answers to George
I'd like to drop him in a forge
 I think if I did
 I'd nail on a lid
 to prevent accidental disgorge
 4: jenslobodin, cdb, judge, coiro

 12. by DCWrites
 The president answers to George
 Washington raises his gorge
 When they stutter in lockstep
He's forced to then hard schlep
His message, which takes too much cour'ge

Very satisfying to get all those votes for the entrants. Thank you all for playing!

agentmitten, as acknowledged champ of this round of limericks, you get to
say how we should proceed with the next round. We can use pk's suggestion from
earlier: Get the first three lines down and ask for submissions for the final two.
What say you? What say any of you?

[-ettes is eschewed; we are COSMOs]

Am I allowed to say yay me? I hope so. Yay me!

Here's what I would do for the next round: provide the first two
lines and let the contestants fill in the last three. I think
supplying 3 lines would be too many, and would make the entries come
out too much like one another. I would also love to have some preset
deadlines - they can be generous, but it helps to get things going when
you know you have to have it in.

and I thought there were many clever twists, including the surprise org-ies.
