Yeah!
In the man from the street, if not living in them, interviews pre and post
SotU speech from the Philadelphia Dalilws: "I've always worked," she said.
"I worked at the Philadelphia Navy Yard before it closed. I never thought it
wouild ever come to this [out of work since April 01]. It's so depressing. I
would wish this on anyone."
Reaction to Bush's speech:
"Where are the jobs? The war part, I can't eat war. I didn't get any hope
out of this message. I'm very dismayed."
Fucking right, Maragaret Holloway, 'CAN'T EAT WAR!'

I think you have to be an adult to enjoy beets. Not to say that it in
any way defines maturity, but, it certainly doesn't seem to go with
childhood. All I remember was that, unless I ate my beets, the wardens
of the school cafeteria wouldn't let me go out onto the schoolground to
play. So me and my friends became ingenious at coming up with ways to
eliminate beets from our trays. The straw punching the beet so that
the straw fills up with beet and at the most you had to eat only a
portion of your beet (which at this stage resembled red swiss cheese).
The beet shoved into our empty milk carton. The beet held in our
mouth until we got outside and could spit it out. The beet bartered
with the insane school kid who was adult beyond his years and actually
enjoyed beets but didn't like his yams (I loved yams as a child and I
still love them as an adult which goes to prove that some foods are
beyond time).

...and if anyone *dares* to come back with some kind of witty retort
like "Well, don't that beet all" I will personally see that they are
beeten to death.

I'm sorry, but to me beets taste like dirt. Not that I have anything
against dirt, mind you, but why not just elimate the middleman and eat
dirt?
