Like it or not, television is how mainstream American culture keeps track of itself. To a certain extent, you find what you're looking for in there: if you hate it, there's plenty to hate; if you love it, there's plenty to love. Television is remarkable for its penetration into the cultures of the world, and for its successes and failures as a means of both informing and misleading people.
The WELL television conference (g tv) overlaps somewhat with the media conference, where television is considered along with other mass media. In the tv conference you will find discussions of specific programs, technology, the politics of television and television technology, the nature of the medium, and more.
