Shortcuts
Shortcut Box
A text entry box labeled Shortcut appears at the
bottom of your conferencing window. By entering specific
text commands in this box followed by the return or enter key, you have access to additional tools not available by mouse click.
Each shortcut command is listed in the table below.

| add |
add conferencename adds a conference to your
personal conference list. For example: add
pets adds the Pets Conference to "My Conference List."

| b, browse |
|
|
b displays the topic list in any
specified conference. For example: b arts
displays the topic list of the Arts Conference.
b since -number days will list topics
that have had new responses in the past specified number of
days. For example: b since -5 days will show
the new posts in the conference you are in for the last 5
days.
b "keyword" will list topics in the
conference you are in that include a particular part of a
word, word, or phrase in the title. For example, b
"Da Vinci" will yield topics with
Da Vinci in the title.
b for will list topics you have
"forgotten".

| bio |
bio username displays a WELL member's
profile. For example: bio puffball

| fixseen |
fixseen conferencename will mark all topics
in a conference as seen. For example: fixseen pets marks all topics in the Pets Conference as seen.

| forget |
forget conferencename topicnumber will
remove a topic from your view of the topic list. For example: forget pets 112 removes topic 112 in the Pets Conference from your view. To include
the topic in the topic list again, enter remember
conferencename topicnumber. Reload the topic list to
see your changes.

| g, go |
g conferencename takes you to a conference. For
example, g pets takes you to the Pets
Conference. g conferencename topicnumber
takes you to a particular topic.

| n |
n moves you to the next conference
containing new discussion items on "My Conference List."
|
|
| pre |
pre conferencename preserves the conference
as unread. pre conferencename topicnumber
responsenumber preserves the responses in the
topic after the number selected as unread. For example,
pre arts 413 will keep the new posts in topic
413 in the Arts Conference "new" for your next visit
to the conference. You can keep an entire topic new by
clicking "Keep New" at the top left of the page.

| remember |
remember topicnumber reinstates a
previously "forgotten" topic to the Recent and All
topic list display.

| remove |
remove conferencename removes the designated
conference from "My Conference List".

| s, see |
see displays specified discussion items,
such as:
see since #days conferencename displays new
responses posted in the last #days in the conference (one
discussion at a time). For example s since -3 days
pets will show as new responses that have been posted
within the last 3 days in the Pets Conference.
see n conferencename displays new responses,
one discussion at a time in the conference you name.
see conferencename displays the topic list
for the named conference. For example: see pets displays the topics in the Pets conference.

Keyboard Shortcuts
If you turn on Keyboard Shortcuts on the General Options
page of your Engaged
Settings, you can use keystrokes to move from conference to
conference and topic to topic in your Conference List.
Keyboard shortcuts are disabled by default because they can
interfere with some software (such as screen readers, or with
Firefox's advanced option search of a page by just starting to type.)
You may also have to turn off or adjust any popup blockers.
Keyboard shortcuts are ignored when you're entering a post or
pseud or typing a command into the Shortcut Box. Opening new
tabs may also interfere. These effects are temporary. If you
don't get the action you expect, just click anywhere on the
page margins to give the focus back.
