Every film Mann directed has had impressionistic, adventurous scores. We'll be hearing some of them including, his TV show, "Miami Vice" and his latest film, "Heat." Tuesday, March 5, 1996 A LIVING ROOM CONCERT WITH DANNY HEINES We'll go to the San Franciscan home of guitarist Danny Heines for a living room concert of acoustic guitar and electric bass. Danny Heines is a virtuoso picker who works in the two-handed orchestral tradition pioneered by Michael Hedges. Danny Heines plays music from his latest CD, Vanishing Borders on the Silver Wave label as well as a new, un-released composition. Wednesday, March 6, 1996 RICK HEIZMAN: GLOBAL SOUND COLLECTOR. Some people import furniture, animals or historical artifacts. Rick Heizman imports musical instruments from around the world. And he plays them as well, creating an acoustic world fusion on albums such as "Hard To Reach Places." We visit Rick Heizman's living room and take a tour of his collection, the music and the world. Thursday, March 7, 1996 A NEW VOICE Singers from around the world have been reinventing choral traditions and creating new lyric avenues. We'll hear new voices in this hour including a celtic choir Anuna, chinese singer Dadawa, Tom and Sue Wasinger, and Adiemus. Friday, March 8, 1996 RETURN OF THE ROCK REFUGEES. A funny thing happened along the way to the Top Forty. A while back we did a show featuring rock musicians who have taken detours from pop stardom to create a more personal, and introspective instrumental music. We received such a great response to that program that we decided to dig deeper and find more Rock and Roll Refugees, including David Sylvian from "Japan," Stuart Copeland from "The Police," Jon Weider from "The Animals," and Steve Hackett from "Genesis." **************************************************** ID# 95-J07-00046 Monday, March 4, 1996 (Echoes Program M-1) First Half Hour Priscilla Ermel Martim Pescador Essencial (Azul) Echoes of Incas Huayra Puncco Ventaua al Sol (Sonic Images) Jeff Aug Brooding Brow with The Enlightening Moment Before Raised Eye Sleep Prevails (Diesel Boy) Riley Lee, Michael Shoalhaven Rise Shoalhaven Rise Atherton, Michael Askill (Celestial Harmonies) Jade Warrior Songs of the Forest/ Elements (Island) Wind Song Second Half Hour FEATURE: Michael Mann's Movie Music Terje Rypal Mystery Man Heat Soundtrack (Warner Bros.)
