Sword Chooses

Sword has a hat

And a nose. (It's right there!)

Sword has a sock,

And a scruffy old bear.

And Sword gets to choose

Right there on the spot

The things she will use

Of the things she has got.

Sword has two ears

To listen to sounds

And a pair of bright eyes

That are big, blue and round.

Sword has a brush

And a comb. She insists

That she use them herself

And she does it like this!

Sword has two feet/and they run very fast/ and a pair of red shoes/which she'll wear if I ask.

And Sword is no stranger/to housework. All day/ She cleans and arranges/as if it were play.

She removes all the books/From the shelf to the floor/ And she won't even look/She just runs back for more.

She can't wait till we're through/ Reading one single line/ Just one book will not do/ She must open up nine.

Ten books from the shelf/Scattered hither and yon/ She chose them herself/ And at once she moved on.

Ran out of the room/Far too busy to stay/ But she'll hurry back soon/Just to put them away.

Sword has a hat/ And a nose. (It's right there!)/ Sword has a sock/And a scruffy old bear.

And Sword always chooses/Right there on the spot/ What things she will use/Of the things she has got.
