Pismo Beach (with apologies to Joyce Kilmer) I think that schools will never teach A poem nice as Pismo Beach: A beach to which the tourists flee To watch the sun set in the sea While passing up their eggs and ham To dine upon delicious clams; A beach that has, like beaches oughta, Its rightful share of sand and wotta, Where poets come when they get tired In hopes that they will be inspired. Poems are made by fools, they say, But Pismo Beach can make your day. --Thomas G. Digby written 6/07/91 entered 6/09/91 17:30
