Co-op Historian (Excerpted from A Cheap Place to Live: A Biography of the University Students Co-operative Association, 1932-1971) Many co-ops have had somewhat strained relations with their neighbors, but one of the biggest ongoing feuds involved Cloyne and a neighboring fraternity during the 50's and 60's. The Berkeley chapter of Beta Theta Pi, at the time, was in the building that is now the Graduate School of Public Policy facing Hearst Avenue and, later, in what is now the Jesuit Theological Seminary's Chardin Hall, across Ridge Road. |
