Mill Valley Police Department
Special Alert for October 27 2001

Dateline Mill Valley, California -- Mill Valley Chief of Police Fred Schmaltz announced today that the entire MVPD will be put on emergency standby for the weekend of October 26, 27, and 28 October when the Tam High Class of 1961 comes back for its 40th reunion. All three officers comprising the Department will have leaves and vacation cancelled and Chief Schmaltz is expecting trouble.

"These kids were bad mojo back then," the chief says, "and I don't think they've mellowed much over the years. Why, I remember some of those young rowdies putting small imported cars up on the roof of the Tam High gym -- in broad daylight! We always thought it was that punk Tommy Yarborough and a few of his no-good buddies, but we could never make a case on them -- they were too slick for us!"

"And that Bill Butler kid! Had a Vespa and roared up and down Miller Avenue on the damn thing -- clocked him at almost 20 miles per hour one time, but our traffic officers just couldn't catch up with him, no matter how hard they peddaled their bycicles."

"Our Sex Crimes unit is pretty sure that members of this very class used to make out in the bushes behind the Outdoor Art Club during their orgies, and some were known to actually smooch in the back seats of cars parked on SCHOOL GROUNDS!"

"So we're going to be watching them all pretty carefully ... if we can stay up that late. According to reports, they plan to stay up till ten or maybe even eleven at night!"
