Announcing Reunion

They said it couldn't be done -- they said that the Class of 1961 wouldn't get around to a 40th reunion! But the critics were wrong! There will actually be a reunion and it is going to be over the weekend of October 27-28 of 2001, and if you were a member of this illustrious class, you're invited!

We currently (January 2001) have about 65 classmates on an e-mail distribution list. All of these poor people are bombarded with Tam Spam from time to time, little messages with information about the reunion and demands for cash. We have done one snail-mail letter to about 140 classmates and got about 40 back for bad addresses.

Preparation for the event is going so well that people from other classes are begging to be allowed to attend, but we are being rude and brutal with them. "This is an exclusive gig, dude," we tell them, "and it is ONLY for '61ers!" and they slink off, sobbing softly. Well, you can't blame them -- it is going to be a swell party.

Alan Eshleman, MD, has reserved the Outdoor Art Club for the dinner/dance on the 27th of October 2001. Apparently enough time has elapsed for the board of directors to forget the way we trashed the joint repeatedly back when we had dances there --- or maybe they just think we've somehow mellowed.

Nancy Williams (Brown) is our official accountant. She needs $50 from you for a deposit if you're planning on attending the big party at the Outdoor Art Club. There will be other events, too -- like a possible picnic on Sunday, the 28th -- that won't cost anything more than whatever you want to bring to the party.
