
Wendy Eisler-Kashy is originally from San Francisco, studied flute with Julius Baker, coached with Marcel Moyse and James Galway, and received her Master of Music Degree from Manhattan School of Music. Her debut at Carnegie Recital Hall prompted the New York Times to comment on the "remarkable sensitivity that lent distinction to her performance."
In 1975 Wendy Eisler-Kashy was invited by the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra to be principal flutist. Since then she has become well-known to music lovers in Israel through her many solo and chamber appearances and radio recordings. She has often been chosen to premiere new works by Israeli composers.
In 1989 she formed The Jerusalem Duo with Allan Sternfield. In addition to numerous concert tours throughout Europe and the USA, The Jerusalem Duo have represented Israel in international music festivals in Hungary, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Morocco, and has recorded its extensive Israeli repertoire for European radio stations.
