Sometime, you'll meet someone, and you'll see more than is really there

Their golden eyes will sparkle in the darkness
With pupils wide...open to diminished light
Endless depths, reflected to the surface
A look beyond in a glance

What's the reason? How does it happen?
Suddenly you're lost in that other world
Eyes calling to you, encouraging you to carry it through 'til tomorrow

Since this life is just a dream
And we realize that we're only playin' a scene
Sometimes, we need to be reminded how the show goes
Sometimes, we need to be guided

So look for those golden eyes
It's the spark that flickers in and out of everyone
Reminding us of what's to come
Far beyond the realm of normal vision
Rings of fire in the darkness, a flash of recognition

Borrowed ore from the heart of gold gilds them
Catching the light they pass it on
Like a lighthouse in the distance
Letting you know you're not alone
And pointing the way home
