Novato, the largest and northernmost community in Marin, is the last stop before Sonoma County. The old-west, frontier roots still show, but the town blends its rich history with modern amenities.

Novato residents have a fairly long commute to San Francisco but a relatively short one to Santa Rosa and the wine country.
