That would be me. A staff writer at Money, I write little pieces, big features and Money Quizzes, mostly relating to the strange ways we think (or donŐt think) about money. Before that, I wrote extensively about technology and investing for Upside and Newsday, among others. I've also written a good deal on books, culture and technology for such places as Salon, Fortune, the Wall Street Journal, the Chicago Tribune, the Los Angeles Times, the Utne Reader, The Nation and the now-deceased Lingua Franca, Feed and P.O.V. magazine. In a former incarnation, I wrote the Appall-o-Meter and edited the book section for for In These Times magazine/. Back in Year One of the Web or thereabouts, I wrote silly little squibs for HotWired's NetSurf, including a lovely little poem about cat excrement which may have vanished forever into the ether, alas. I've outlasted many of the publications on this little list.

I live in Chicago, make bad electronic music on my eMac, and spend a good portion of every day conversing with the cat. (Transcripts available upon request.)
