Three-dimensional files will be opened as screens much like videos and may even have video-like animation routines attached. The three-dimensional file will be able to be manipulated by the user with axis controls similar to those used to manipulate the matrix. The image will be stereoptically three-dimensional as well, with the user seeing into the screen. By activating the "Swap-Space" glyph on the screen, the space of the 3D file will replace the space of the matrix and the matrix will appear as a 3D image on a screen within the new space (see Fig. 11).
