"We're here!"
Dorothy's clear voice with its vestiges of New Hampshire twang
rang out in the cabin.
Dorothy and Sid had arrived,
their energy lighting up the cabin on a cloudy day in late May.

We hurried to the front door to greet them.
I hugged Sid, kissed Dorothy on the cheek.
Gunter kissed Dorothy European style on both cheeks, shook Sid's hand.

Sid Seibelman -- a curator of contemporary art --
wearing loose cut chino pants and a silk patterned shirt.
His wife, the painter Dorothy Abrona McCrae,
country elegant in a white cotton shirt, blue jeans.
Their distinguished faces, grey hair, the only evidence that they are both in their eighties.

The aroma of homemade cornbread permeated the room.
In the kitchen, coffee was brewing.

As we sat down together at the table,
the sun came out.
