The terrors we confront practically every moment of our lives
are not imagined.

If at times we seemingly accept
this invasive assault on our bodies and souls,
it is because we know no other way to live.

If, thrust into an interface designed by madmen,
we do not outwardly display fear,
our courage was bred in years of forced endurance.

Our tears are shed for stolen freedoms.
