For the voices from many nations
who speak of compassion throughout our world,
I am thankful.

It is of our homeland that I speak.

I ask that in these troubled times we not forget how many of us are under attack
by a terrorism that originates on our own shores.

I do not know how much of the criminal invasion of our lives
to which I and thousands of others have been for generations subjected
is perpetrated by members of our own government.

I only know that I have seen no evidence
that our government cares that many citizens of this country
are hunted in our own homelands.

In any free country, official disdain for the welfare of its people
is unexpected.
Thus, although I do not know how far the enemy has penetrated into our government,
it is clear that treacherously installing leaders
who destroy our country's respected global standing,
who do not uphold the rights of other nations,
who disdain to help their own people
would be one way
to undermine the very fabric of an honorable nation.

Yet I believe that there are leaders
who care about our right to live our lives in freedom
who would trust all of the people with information vital to their well being,
who care about the environment,
who seek peace globally.

We seek to restore the honor of our nation.

We define sanctuary as a return to freedom for our homelands.

we ask for sanctuary.
