I do not know how many other Presidents
have cowardly failed
to tell us that we are at risk,
why, and by whom.
But it is your watch now.
Unopposed nationally by your own party,
you ask for another term of silence.
No words adequately describe the terrible slow understanding
of the extent of what has been done to us.
Alone, we struggle to comprehend
the hurtful unraveling of our lives.
We cannot speak of these things. You withhold the evidence.
We live in fear.
We cannot seek refuge. With your silence, you deny us this right.
We ask for Sanctuary
