to produce, to compose, to perform, to make art online,
to introduce new media,
we have the courage to shape new artforms
for which our culture will be remembered.

Let those of us who speak or write or draw or sing
images, ideas, narratives, investigations
which elucidate the darkness
remember always
that if we are silenced,
the freedom to speak the truth
is also extinguished.

Remember also to honor all art forms.
From those who work in art forms with centuries of tradition
to those who create diverse approaches to new media,
the voices of many artists have been repressed.

In this climate of clandestine terror,
we have the courage to speak
the unspeakable.

We also speak of hope.
of clear streams, of green meadows, and blue skies

We are heroines;
We are heroes.

For everyone, in every country in the world, we ask for sanctuary.
