Some will say it is better not to know,
and yes, that would be easier in some ways.
The sun is shining; I am out walking in the hills;
this never happened.

But I have lived my life in the shadow of a terror
that has flourished in the darkness of International silence.
And I cannot stop the tears.

Intimidation succeeds when we cannot speak of it openly.
A secret inquisition is perpetuated
in the darkness of official denial.
To stop this persecution,
to ask those in power to bring the criminals responsible to justice,
the world must know that it exists.

for all of us, in every country in the world, I ask for sanctuary.
I define sanctuary as a return to freedom for our homelands.
