"The gallery reflects our marriage," Sid said.

Gwen and I were standing in the doorway of the gallery,
at the house at Silver Beach.
Along the walls, Dorothy's paintings
were interspersed with works of other artists
which Sid had collected in his over 40 years
of running a gallery in San Francisco.

The Silver Beach gallery was a long corridor-like room
which ran the length of the back of the house
but was wide enough to accommodate not only
the paintings, drawings, prints and photographs on each side
but also in the center
free standing sculptures,
and chairs and table with artists books and other small works of art
or terminals hosting computer-mediated works of art
and continuously playing video art.
