On the table there were also bowls of black beans,
California cheese, green chilis, sour cream, fresh salsa,
homemade tortillas wrapped in white linen napkins.

Like a display in a museum where the curators seek to convey
the beauty of translucent bottles full of beer
and the allure of the colorful scenes on their labels,
many bottles of beers from all over the world
were set on ice in an antique bathtub.

Interpersed with bowls of salads,
were baskets of butter and garlic soaked croutons
and loaves of fresh French bread.

Open bottles of champagne, set in silver ice buckets,
were surrounded by green glass goblets.
