Along the Eastern side of the swimming pool was a wide ledge, tiled in the same blue-green tiles with which the pool was lined. On this ledge was a small table with two chairs. Dorothy and Sid sat there in the early morning, I imagined, drinking coffee, looking at the foothills of Mount Tam which were visible though the gap between the front and back sections of the house.
The pool -- it was almost the length of the courtyard -- |
