Discussions
Every other Wednesday, we'll host an informal discussion on
different aspects of clowning. We'll have special guests from the
community and from the performing and academic worlds. All are
welcome to attend and participate. Admission is free, although
donations are gratefully accepted.
All discussions take place at 8 pm , and last approximately 60-90
minutes.
SCHEDULE
WED. APRIL 11:
The Clown in Society: Political buffoons, holy fools, and the
Trickster.
Tonight we''ll discuss the concept of the clown and how he
relates to the society at large. Is the clown just an entertainer, or
does he serve a higher purpose? We'll also touch on the image of the
Evil clown in literature and fact.

WED. APRIL 25:
Humor and the Soul: The Healing Power of Laughter
We'll discuss the connection between your health, your
well-being, and your sense of humor. Does he who laughs well laugh
last? We'll discuss the Gesundheit Institute, Clowns Without Borders,
Clown Care programs, and self-help against depression.

WED. MAY 10:
Floppy Disks and A Big Red Mouse: What is the future of the
clown?
We'll discuss how clowns become clowns, and how they
manage to make a living. What does the future hold for the clown?
We'll also discuss the evolution of the clown in the wired world, and
if the Internet is any place for the red-nosed.
