What's LadyHawk reading?
I have been a professioal book reviewer for almost 40 years (since November 1973). I include a tiny essay on "How to Write a Decent Book Review" and an even tinier bit of advice on how to get started reviewing. My son, the writer and pop culture demigod Keith DeCandido and I, also offer an essay about writing for a living.

My email address comes from my favorite movie, Ladyhawke. The name of my business came from Tennesse Williams' play, The Glass Menagerie.

What's LadyHawk writing and saying?
A favorite is my article on Giles, Hero Librarian, from the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I have done a fair amount of speaking to library audiences, and I have a few of my presentations here:

  • "Technology is the campfire around which we tell our stories"
  • Ten Graces for New Librarians
  • Words Are All We Have: A Very Brief Disquisition on Librarians, Access, Technology, Feminism, and the Truths of Things
