This demonstration system runs on the World Wide Web, and is accessible globally, from anywhere on the planet, by anybody who has an Internet connection and a Web Browser of any kind.
The system can give an indication of the kinds of Community Services that a town like Waterloo may choose to make available. It is intended as a document to be used to stimulate discussions between the Town Council, Commerce and indeed any residents of Waterloo who are interested in these issues.
This demonstration was prepared by Peter Feltham of the CommuniTations Group of companies.
Pages developed on the PC version of this Web are copied to the Suns using standard Internet ftp (file transfer protocol). Apart from the "whodunnit" line added at the end of each page by The WELL, they are exactly the same as the PC version.
If these systems are accessed over the Internet, the exact same software is used, and exactly the same information is supplied from the Web-Server.
