Tweezer plays catch
Miss Tweezer has a thing for those little toy mice, the kind with the
impossibly hued rabbit-fur bodies and the satin string tails. All I have
to do is whisper "Moussssssie..." and she goes into a crouch, eyes
dilated, tail twitching, waiting for me to toss one so that it sails
through the air over her head. Then she leaps high into the air,
twisting and turning as she reaches with all her might for the flying
mouse.
This was a pretty amazing feat three years ago, when she was a slender
teen. But now she's gotten ... uh ... burly, with a very round middle and
an ample belly flap. Yet she still has a lot of spring in her legs.
Normally, her idea of activity is to sit in the shade, surrounded by
garden ornaments.
But it's a whole different story when there are faux mice around.
She's got air!
A close-up: check out the splayed toes on her rear paws!
