Race with the Dragons!

Guests, passengers, team prospects and curious onlookers are invited to try out dragon boat paddling at almost any scheduled practice session. No experience is necessary, and BRCC supplies lifejackets and paddles. Kids and dogs are usually welcome, but it's good to ask first.

Join online at the the BRCC and DragonMax membership page

If you are planning to come out as a guest, you can save time at the dock if you download and print out the BRCC Amateur Athletic Waiver and Release of Liability form and bring a signed copy with you.

Children under 12 must be accompanied in the boat by a parent. Youth under 18 require parental signature on the waiver form before they can go out in any of the BRCC boats.

Swimmming ability is not requird. Dragon boats seldom swamp or capsize, and non-swimmers must wear lifejackets at all times. (Good swimmers who certify their swimming ability may take off their lifejackets under certain conditions, but must always keep them close at hand.)

There is no charge for up to two practice sessions in any two-month period. After three introductory sessions, new paddlers are asked to join BRCC to contine. Membership fees are as follows:

$100/year for adult members
$20/year for college students
Free for youth members under 18.

Membership is by calendar year. A discount is usually offered for late-season applications.
