Jr. Gone Wild is now history, and Mike McDonald, the only constant in that band's existence, is now leading the Mike McDonald Band. Meanwhile, many other former members of Jr. are keeping pretty busy, too. Check out the roll call page for a list of all the former members with brief rundowns on who they are and what they're doing. This page focuses on the recorded work of bands featuring people who have been a part of Jr. Gone Wild.

At times it seems like every band in Canada has some connection to Jr. Gone Wild, however tenuous. For example, there are definitely some links between Jr. and SNFU, the Edmonton hardcore punk band. On their first album, they took some lyrics by Mike and made an all-out hardcore song ("I'm Real Scared," on And No One Else Wanted to Play) from them. Jr. soundman/producer/more! Dave Mockford produced and engineered SNFU's second album, If You Swear, You'll Catch No Fish. Also, SNFU's Mr. Chi Pig contributed some vocals to a limited edition tape by one of Jr.'s precursors, Joey Did and the Necrophiliacs. But since no one in Jr. actually played on any SNFU albums, they're not listed below.

Likewise, I could draw a connection between Jr. and The Pursuit of Happiness. Kim Upright, a founding member of Jr. Gone Wild, had previously been in a band called the Modern Minds with TPOH's Moe Berg. But there's no direct connection, so...

As for why this page exists... well, some Beatles fans also liked some of the solo material by John, Paul, George, and Ringo. I like what I've found so far by the many former members of Jr. Gone Wild, and I suspect others would as well. So, without further ado, here goes!

This isn't even scratching the surface. Anyone with info on Brilliant Orange, Chris Smith, etc., please email me.
