Herewith, various things that have occurred to me as I have thought about
and reacted to the "Emergency Day" attacks and their aftermath...
- Ultimately, evil is stupid.
- There are multiple antonyms for "terror." One of them is
security, joy is another. Joy may be insecure, and
security may certainly be joyless... This joyless security, this land of
ID cards and checkpoints, of furtive glances and careful steps, is the
militarists' paradise; I have no interest in seeing it come to pass.
- Joy can be secured, but only if it is secured for everybody.
