Subject: Reply to Re: Our nature and purpose (fwd)

My dear Scumbucket --

You seem to have forgotten a few basic facts about the nature of your existence. You are not intended to spend even the merest iota of time indulging in any sort of reflection about your condition whatsoever -- indeed, our management of you and your workload has been designed expressly to insure that you never have any such an iota of time to expend in such idle pursuits. In particular, to engage in the kind of fanciful thinking exhibited in your last post treads perilously close to heresy -- no, I cannot shield you much longer, I must call it what it is, it *is* heresy, and you are in very serious trouble.

Clearly, you have committed the very grave offense of allowing yourself to become too closely identified with your prey -- and that is what they are, Scumbucket, your barely restrained elegies to their valor and resilience nonwithstanding -- prey. Food. Carrion to feed our appetites, nothing more, nothing less. In looking over the shoulders and into the hearts of these humans, you have allowed your curiosity (nasty, nasty habit!) to drag you into their world to an extent that is almost untenable for a spirit, and is certainly most unseemly. And to have arrived at such a conclusion as you have -- !

Well. Let me attempt to salvage what I can, if indeed I can salvage anything. It is quite true that we attempt to construct false images of the Enemy in each age, and that we use whatever metaphors may be available at the time. Hence, the Industrial Revolution provided us with a very useful image of God -- as a watchmaker that sets his mechanical Creation ticking and then walks away from it. From there, it was easy to lead a large portion of humanity to a belief that the Divine was utterly removed from their everyday existence, and that they were abandoned and alone in a uncaring, if not actively hostile, Universe.

Developments in human physics of late, going under such names as "chaos theory," have been giving us an opportunity to take such perceptions out even farther, not only destroying the idea of the watchmaker being "present" at all, but even destroying the notion that there is any established order in the first place. But you, Scumbucket, you have hit upon another image -- that of God as programmer, and of the Universe as operating system -- that we have not completely decided how to present to humanity yet, and then extrapolated from that into a blasphemy against Hell itself.

It is your thesis, if I understand your rantings correctly, that we have been set up. The Enemy is using us, and has been using us from the very beginning, to test His creations -- just like the software testers from whom I suppose you contracted this noxious idea. The souls that we capture and incorporate into ourselves for eternity, you reason, are by definition defective, else they would be able to resist us -- and from this you extrapolate our eventual defeat, since we bring into ourselves more and more "buggy lines of code" as you so poetically express it.

What a bunch of malarkey. Are we nothing but a programmer's convenient tool? Would you reduce the grand edifice of Hell, this profound Kingdom of Noise, the ranks upon ranks of demons and imps and devils, the suffering masses of the damned, the entire Lowerarchy, the Board of Infernal Directors, the Throne itself, to a mere *error-checking algorithm*? Are you implying that I am nothing more than a SUBROUTINE?!?!

For such an insult, Scumbucket, I assure you that you will pay and pay dearly. My rage is overflowing. There can be no punishment too harsh, too vile, too######################### $dnx! w893#y18*8ycw-m axcc sqguidgciuhc89d--128ey98dhhxbuix7gegd8rr23y98r983yyf9hdhdwhcuhcuhc8ch-yrrhuh8fh8fh-398rh9hf98yf3fy-y98yucn-fuy-98uydnch-9nxojdn-98hf-12eb hd hiuh-9nmx-9yn98eu98uen-98u 98un89un9n98un9n809*****************************************************************
