The Screwdisk E-Mail: Other Sightings

As I suspected, I am indeed not the only person to have found mail from the Infernal Regions cluttering my mailbox. Here's one discovered by Tom Ellis ...

Skip,
Whilst cleaning up my drive on the unix system I store my mail
on, I came across a fragment of what appears to be a mail message. I was
about to discard it when I noticed, in the fragment of header I had, a
reference to a "MAILER-DEMON" as opposed to a "MAILER-DAEMON". Suddenly
I realized what I had, and thought that since you seem to have
intercepted somewhat more info than I had that I would pass this on to
you.

[BEGIN FRAGMENT]
....such as the current debates going on in the US Congress over
budgetary issues. It will serve our purposes well to help foster this
debate, but by no means do we want the issue to be resolved. As long as
the lawmakers in the United States cannot come to an agreement, it helps
take media attention away from what is really going on in the capital of
mankind's most powerful nation, the source of so many souls for us. The
last thing we want the general public to figure out is that it isn't
about budgets or social programs, but about power and about controlling
the lives of the masses. With so many Democrats already on our, shall we
say membership list, the last thing we want is for people to realize that
the liberal agenda is about control, not about "feel good" social
programs.
So, let them rave on at each other about budgets and cuts. This
will continue to muddy the waters for us, and in the end, even with the
%1 reduction that is really at the heart of the debate, more than enough
tax dollars will remain for our followers to use as a power base....
[END FRAGMENT]

There was some more, but it was encrypted in such a way that I could not
retrieve it.

Take care, and let me know what you make of this confusing fragment.
