Chaos and Beyond

As to the issues that we should look at during our time at Esalen: The
biggest challenges, in my view, are managing population and technology.
Technology has the potential to be angel's wings that could carry
humanity toward utopia, and population is the albatross that could
potentially drag us into hell. Politics, ideology, and management
theories stand in the middle. As always, the challenge is to build a
realistic dynamic into any model. Right now the planet is swimming in
more chaos on more levels than any model can anticipate. How to bring
all this together at the end of the millennium should prove an
interesting departure point for discussion.
