From tomorrow@well.com Mon Feb 9 08:39:35 1998 Date: Mon, 9 Feb 1998 08:39:35 -0600 (CST) From: tomorrow@well.com Subject: A short message from Tom Tomorrow I just got back from a trip and discovered that my "Starr I Are" cartoon, which initially ran in the New York Times a few weeks ago and has run in most of my 100 or so subscribing papers, has been transcribed and put up on the net without attribution -- in some cases with some alteration. Since everyone with an email address seems to have received a copy of this thing -- I've also heard it's been getting read aloud on right-wing talk radio -- I just wanted to set the record straight on authorship (so that I don't end up getting accused of plaguarizing my own work!) ... please post and forward this message as you see fit. Thanks. STARR I ARE by Dr. Suess I'm here to ask As you'll soon see -- Did you grope Miss Lewinsky? Did you grope her In your house? Did you grope Beneath her blouse? I did not do that Here or there -- I did not do that Anywhere! I did not do that Near or far -- I did not do that Starr-You-Are. Did you smile? Did you flirt? Did you peek Beneath her skirt? And did you tell the girl to lie When called upon To testify? I do not like you Starr-You-Are -- I think that you Have gone too far. I will not answer Any more -- Perhaps I will go Start a war! The public's easy To distract -- When bombs are Falling on Iraq! --Tom Tomorrow/This Modern World
