En Route to becoming a GT 350, the fastback Mustang goes through a careful rebuilding process designed by Carroll Shelby to produce a true dual-purpose high performance sports car, including chassis and suspension alterations as well as engine modifications. Inboard traction arm brackets are being welded to the chassis in this photograph.
Time and again while looking at these photos I'm awed by how clean and tidy the factory was. Check out the lonely unpainted AC in the background, as well as the protective plastic on the edge of the GT's door.
