Subject/General Research Guides
- www.yahoo.com - As always a good
place to begin. After you are finished looking at the different subject
listings, consider looking at the news, at the atlas and telephone pages,
and so on. Also, after you are finished searching for an item, click on
the links to additional search engines at the bottom of the page, and you
will find that you search is 'forwarded' to that search engine automatically.
Get to know these different search engines. Each turns up different kinds
of information.
- www.infoseek.com- another good
search beginning
- www.infospace.com- is a good
place to find addresses and city information.
provides reviews, yellow pages, etc. I suppose this might be a site to
'surf' from since one does get reviews. However, I like things unfiltered
and so prefer Yahoo. A strong search engine nearby.
- and don't forget UT!
