I live in Manhattan. I've been here since 1981, except for two years I lived in Jerusalem.
I was born in Atlanta (a great-great uncle died in the War of Northern Aggression) and grew up in Milwaukee, Cleveland and Rochester, N.Y.
I'm an editor at the Jewish Communication Network, whose Web page is only the beginning of an exciting adventure in Jewish virtual community. I was formerly a reporter for the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, a wire service serving Jewish newspapers. I am currently having too much -- and working too hard -- to have updated my resume.
Maybe it's because I can't carry a tune, but I like music. In particular, Bob Dylan and contemporary Israeli music. I like lots of other stuff, too, but haven't yet feel moved to be their voice on the 'net.
I've been an amateur programmer since 1974. (I printed invitations to my 10th birthday party with a few lines of Fortran code on an IBM 360). I thought of turning pro -- got a computer science degree, spent a couple summers programming -- but cast my lot with words of more than one syllable. Lately I've discovered Visual Basic.
