woodstock.68: Tinymovementstock, Zack. woodstock.68.0: WELL Woodstock Demo #2 (wstock2) Sun 14 Aug 94 07:49 If all these people, or maybe just a small number of them (say 3 percent) had any concept of injustice, things could've gotten quite revolutionary here at Woodstock '94. Instead we few who foster any values closely resembling those of our concertgoing predecessors walk through this zone of Frat boys and MTV heads with our heads held low. The sick part is that tha rest of you fuckers on-line are just as apathetic and tethered by fear of jail, so that even if we did accomplish some sort of progress toward change, as soon as this sinfest was finished, the ball wouls fall back in the hands of the ones who have sucessfully managed to-in the space of only 25 years-turn hippies and their children into slaves to the only establishment on Earth capable of such black magic. That's right!!! America owns the rights to the concept of "hippie" and the @#$%@%%* motherfuckers made quite a profit on your souls. RESIST! RESIST! RESIST! Or just pull the fucking trigger, because you have nothing that even resembles a life, just money for the rich to trade for food that belongs to a God they have the marketing rights to. woodstock.68.1: c hill (wstock2) Sun 14 Aug 94 07:51 When the shit goes down, I'm gonna be ready. woodstock.68.2: perfection is the scourge of psychological health (paris) Sun 14 Aug 94 08:36 gee, thanks for sharing. woodstock.68.3: Papa Chubby (ikoman) Sun 14 Aug 94 08:59 OK, folks, one, two, three, REALITY CHECK!!! woodstock.68.4: Jane Gallion (chalis) Sun 14 Aug 94 09:20 10-4 on the reality check. hey folks, the shit's already gone down. Nobody cn buy you if you ain't for sale. Why so furious? Om shantih, sweetie, from an old hippie in Austin. woodstock.68.5: Sebastian Mendler (smendler) Sun 14 Aug 94 09:21 A few gut reactions... 1. The creation of community is itself a radical political act. In the present climate, just being *civil* is an act of rebellion. Being *kind* is almost sufficient evidence of treasonable . Contexts like festivals, where people are *forced* to rely on each other more than they are ordinarily, have the potential of giving people a taste of what real community could be like. (This is why people get so passionalte about what happened at the original concert, and why so many people are in Bethel right now.) 2. There's a lot going on beneath the radar. You may think that no one's working on the reevolution any more, but it ain't so. (I'm going to let my typo in the previous sentence stand.) This very weekend, for example, The Greens/Green Part y USA Gathering is happening in Boise. 3. John Lydon said, "Anger is an energy..." The system would prefer that you be angry and outraged--that puts you off- center, and makes you easier to manipulate. Find ways to put that energy to real use, and you'll become as dangerous to the system as you want to be. woodstock.68.6: Alan Turner (arturner) Sun 14 Aug 94 10:36 If everybody [at this concert] [reading this magazine] [seeing this pamphlet] [other] would [write congress] [plant a tree] [send $5] [give up red meat] [other] just [once] [for a day] [once a day] [for the duration] [other] we could [end world hunger] [create world peace] [save the environment] [end racism] [other]. woodstock.68.7: Ruler of the (cosmos) Sun 14 Aug 94 11:03 Jail seriously reduces one's ability to accomplish anything. woodstock.68.8: jt/AL (wstock4) Sun 14 Aug 94 13:13 I agree. So does tv. We had a good thing a couple of times here. Green Day it was. Arrested Development was smokin. Porn for pyros should be the next x high. woodstock.68.9: Bulgur & Wheatgrass & Windham Hill Songs (mglito) Sun 14 Aug 94 13:27 The key to dealing with all that negativity is not not succumb to it... woodstock.68.10: gimme an E!
