Our last club virtually had no house rules, nothing was taboo and everyone was expected to be consenting adults. Now we're back in an environment where there are DM's, latex & sex rules, etc. I don't wanna freak people out with our play and I don't wanna be labeled as an unsafe player (see my 'Safety Nazi' post on the forum) but I wanna be able to play the way I want to. I guess what we are looking for is like-minded folks to play around and with (if it feels right), a club or social circle with parties, and a general introduction to the SD scene to see what it offers. That's why I posted on the forum. I'd also like to meet other couples to double-date/carpool with to these events. It's nice to have people to talk to at those things! At the 10/30 party we felt awkward not knowing anyone either. An important part for us also is a pansexual environment, I love the variety. So it looks like we're in the same boat, seeking a place to be. I will definitely keep you posted on any parties or other events I hear about. You do the same. I'm glad you laid the cards out. I hate not knowing what peoples' intentions are. We've run into the problem of making friends only to be high-pressured into playing with them. I'm glad you guys are open to it without requiring it. Thanks for letting that be known. I agree, chemistry is a big part of that. Did I answer your questions? I hope so. That's all the updates we have for now, back to you in the studio Alan! --WebTV-Mail-136455541-5848 Content-Disposition: Inline Content-Type: Message/RFC822 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7Bit Received: from mailsorter-102.bryant.webtv.net (mailsorter-102.iap.bryant.webtv.net [207.79.35.92]) by postoffice-111.bryant.webtv.net (8.8.8/po.gso.24Feb98) with ESMTP id MAA22976; Sat, 7 Nov 1998 12:25:37 -0800 (PST) Received: from smtp.well.com (smtp.well.com [206.80.6.147]) by mailsorter-102.bryant.webtv.net (8.8.8/ms.graham.14Aug97) with ESMTP id MAA29482; Sat, 7 Nov 1998 12:25:36 -0800 (PST) Received: from well.com (nobody@well.com [206.15.64.10]) by smtp.well.com (8.8.6/8.8.4) with ESMTP id MAA00584; Sat, 7 Nov 1998 12:25:36 -0800 (PST) Received: (from abs@localhost) by well.com (8.8.5/8.8.5) id MAA24392; Sat, 7 Nov 1998 12:25:33 -0800 (PST) Date: Sat, 7 Nov 1998 12:25:33 -0800 (PST) From: Alan Barnum Scrivener Message-Id: <199811072025.MAA24392@well.com> To: leatherbug@webtv.net Subject: Re: Re: Re: hi! I know SD has one of the > highest rated zoos in the country, so I think I'll break down > and give it a try. You're right -- they don't belong there. But we don't know if animals are "happy" or "unhappy," we can only observe their behavior. Zookeepers have found that when animals engage in repetitious or self-destructive behavior, that PEOPLE get unhappy. When the animals behave with playful novelty, the people are happier. You might find Dixie's web site interesting in this regard: http://www.well.com/user/abs/dbs/eesb/ She has made a specialty of what is called "behavioral" or "environmental enrichment" for captive non-domestic animals. You might be interested to know that she invented a cricket dispenser to entertain predators. RE: DELPHI Thanks for the link! I joined last night (as "Aleph0") and we lurked for a while. We'll probably post soon. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR I wanted to lay all of cards on the table and tell you what we are looking for. It's really two things: more of the same and something different. 1) As I mentioned we just saw our favorite play club implode, shortly after we moved from five miles away to a hundred miles away. We'd love to find a similar environment in SD. We were very disappointed to see the rules at the 10/30 play party excluding penetration and water sports. > ...I don't like the unwanted attention that comes from public displays. This is why we prefer parties with couples only. We've found that unattached males contribute the most unwanted attention. So our search will go on. If you run across any leads, please let us know. (We'll also use the Delphi forum to aid this quest.) 2) We also feel it's good to take the opportunity of a changing environment to expand our horizons. We sort of fell in with an all M dom/F sub crowd and grew in that direction even though we are both switchable. Our play started in the swinging world and so has always been pretty sexual, with B&D and humiliation coming along later, and SM very recent. One of the ways we lead ourselves to try new things is to hang out with folks in a different space from us. WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU Sure, if you called us up and said you were in the mood for a Crisco party we'd come right over, but at this point what we expect is that we might reach a point where there was enough mutual trust for each couple to watch the other in piss play. And all we're actually asking for is to get together for coffee. Hang out. Test the chenistry. Talk about things. WHAT DO YOU WANT? We realize that just because you want to do something doesn't mean you want to do it with US. Still, it has occured to us to wonder, when you showed up at the party with Shaun in a WATER BOY shirt, and when you posted an ad on Delphi looking to meet people in SD, what are you looking for? Places to play? People to play with? An audience? New friends? A scene to be a part of? We're trying to figure out where you want things to go.
