{Photo by Athena Azevedo}Americ Azevedo combines a background in philosophy & a life-long pursuit of consciousness studies, with extensive experience in information technologies & business. He is currently a lecturer at University of California Berkeley (teaching "Meditation: Theory and Practice", "Introduction to Computing", "Time, Money & Love in the Age of Technology" & "Religion, Peace and Conflict"). He has led workshops & delivered talks on subjects ranging from "Improving Education with Online Socratic Dialogue" to "Meditation & Eastern Philosophy", for groups ranging in size from 5 to 50,000. For a number of years he facilitated "Philosopher's Forums" in the community, has published numerous articles, and does individual & business consulting. Americ is a dynamic, entertaining speaker, as well as a very welcoming facilitator, putting participants at ease to create & express their ideas.
