Camille Flammarion was a writer who was one of the first populizers of astronomy and his two-volume book, La Planète Mars, remains relevant today. As a teenager and young man, he worked as an assistant to U.J.J. Le Verrier at the Paris Observatory. After several major literary successes, he built an observatory dedicated to Mars at Juvisy-sur-Orge, France. |
